HOW IT ALL STARTED!
It all started with
We booked a bus from Kashmiri Gate, Delhi for Rishikesh from RedBus. The scheduled departure of the bus was 10:30 pm but it started moving only at around 11:30 pm. The distance between Delhi and Rishikesh is around 230 kms and we got down from the bus at around 5 am. From Rishikesh (where exactly), we took another local bus to Sonprayag which is around 200 kms from Rishikesh. As we were travelling in rainy season there were certain landslides. We reached Sonprayag bus stand at around 1 pm, busses don’t go beyond this point. We quickly checked some hotels around the bus stand and finally found one just adjacent to it. (photo from the balcony) Since it was an off season we got a good deal at INR 1000 per day. We quickly unpacked and had light brunch and walked around 1 km towards Sonprayag car parking and jeep stand from where jeeps would be available on sharing basis to reach Gaurikund. They charge INR 50 per person for xxx km distance. Gaurikund is the place where the trek begun
